Our innovative projects have roots in science supported by organizations such as the World Health Organization and the Bezos Foundation. Our passion for preparing children comes from a mom who has worked for others and is raising leaders of her own.

Our Founder

Portia Ingram, BA, MA

Portia Ingram is the Founder of Community Aligned Restorative Efforts Inc, and has worked and advocated for the disability and early childhood community for over 10 years in various positions ranging from a clinician to policy advocate. She continues to share and provide resources to those in the community as well as working alongside politicians and in non-profit organizations around Long Island.

Portia is the author of the workbook The Helpful Planner, the young adult self-help book How To Survive Your 20s and the children’s book Things To Do While Missing You, a story on grief that has been featured in hospitals and grief centers throughout the Northeast United States and in Ghana, Africa. Her latest book is “Where Is Grandad,” a warm, bedtime story about a little girl’s reaction to her grandfather’s haircut.

She received her bachelor’s from Temple University in Communication Sciences & Disorders and master’s from CUNY in Disability Studies. Portia also successfully completed Harvard University’s Leaders of Learning certificate program and holds the esteemed title of being a Project Management Professional and is certified by the Project Management Institute.
